Chinese shares remained in positive territory for the second-consecutive day on Wednesday following the government's fresh fiscal stimulus measures.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index was up 2.29 percent to end the day at 3,243.09 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index jumped 2.91 percent to close at 10, 620.13 points. The ChiNext Index, China's NASDAQ-style board of growth enterprises, gained 3.53 percent to close at 2,071.72 points.
Total turnover on the two bourses was 844.9 billion yuan (132.8 billion U.S. dollars), up from 524.2 billion yuan the previous trading day.

VIENTIANE -- The Lao stock market finished on Wednesday up 0.23 percent against the previous trading day.
The Lao Securities Exchange composite index increased by 2.85 points to 1,247.53. A total of 8,021 shares worth about 25 million Lao kip (about 3,100 U.S. dollars) changed hands at the stock market.

SEOUL -- Seoul shares ended higher on Wednesday.
The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) jumped 55.52 points, or 2.96 percent, to 1,934.20 at the close. Trading volume stood at 508.96 million shares worth 5.19 trillion won (4. 36 billion U.S. dollars).

SYDNEY -- The Australian share market closed 2 percent higher, led by Australia's finances amid a global equities bounce.
At the close on Wednesday, the benchmark S&P/ASX200 index was 105.9 points, or 2.07 percent, higher at 5,221.1, while the broader All Ordinaries index was up 103.4 points, or 2.01 percent, at 5,236.9.

HONG KONG -- Hong Kong stocks rose 872.27 points, or 4.1 percent, to close on Wednesday at 22,131.31 points.
The benchmark Hang Seng Index traded between 21,529.81 and 22, 228.59. Turnover totaled 115.43 billion HK dollars (14.89 billion U.S. dollars).

HONG KONG -- Taiwan's share prices closed higher Wednesday with the weighted index up 285.42 points, or 3.56 percent, to close at 8,286.92, according to news reaching here from Taipei.

HANOI -- Stock market index of Vietnam's capital Hanoi, HNX- Index, closed at 78.16 points on Wednesday, up 0.9 points, or 1.17 percent, against the previous trading session.
A total of nearly 34.147 million shares worth around 416.018 billion Vietnamese dong (some 19.08 million U.S. dollars) were traded at the Hanoi Stock Exchange on Wednesday, a decrease of 8. 38 percent in volume and an increase of 6.93 percent in value against the previous trading session.

HO CHI MINH CITY -- VN-Index, the stock market index of Ho Chi Minh (HCM) City bourse in south Vietnam, closed at 573.34 points on Wednesday, up 5.62 points, or 0.99 percent, against the previous trading day's closing session.
About 89.599 million shares worth 1.533 trillion Vietnamese dong (VND) (70.04 million U.S. dollars) changed hands at the southern HCM City Stock Exchange. Prices of 131 stocks went up, 80 stocks fell down, while 75 stocks remained unchanged.

KUALA LUMPUR -- The Malaysian stock market ended higher here on Wednesday.
The Kuala Lumpur Composite Index (KLCI) was at 1,603.36, up 16. 24 points or 1.01 percent, and the Emas was at 11,004.79, up 126. 39 points or 1.15 percent.
Turnover increased to 2.56 billion shares valued at 2.42 billion ringgit Malaysia (558.50 million U.S. dollars), compared with 2.01 billion shares valued at 1.71 billion ringgit Malaysia ( 393.92 million U.S. dollars) on Tuesday.
