Mount Gamalama volcano in eastern Indonesia erupted on Tuesday, spewing a column of ash by up to 1,000 meters to the sky, official said.
Powerful burst of hot ash and lava have erupted from the rumbling volcano in Ternate of North Maluku province, triggering rain of ash in several villages, said Sutopo Purwo Nugroho, spokesman of national disaster management agency. (Indonesia- Volcano-Eruption)

BANGKOK -- A key suspect in last month's deadly Bangkok bombing, which killed 20 people and injured more than 100 others, was taken to the crime scenes for re-enactment on Tuesday, police said.
Yusufu Mieraili, arrested in Thailand's Sa Kaeo province near Cambodian border on Sept. 1, was taken under police custody to apartment houses in the capital's eastern suburb, a spot outside Hualumpong railway station where he had allegedly handed out a backpack supposedly containing explosives, and one corner of Ratchaprasong intersection near the scene of the blast. ISLAMABAD -- Pakistani President Mamnoon Hussain on Tuesday urged local and foreign investors to start projects in the country and promised that the government would facilitate the investors by further simplifying the rules and procedures.
Addressing a round-table conference on the theme "Pakistan -- Paradise for Investment" in capital Islamabad, the president said with the existing immense opportunities for investors, a liberal investment environment, stable economy, improved law and order situation and democracy, Pakistan had become a fast emerging destination for foreign and local investors. YANGON -- Political parties in Myanmar began campaigning Tuesday starting with areas in Mandalay, Nay Pyi Taw and Magway for the upcoming general election set for Nov. 8.
Under the arrangement of Union Election Commission (UEC), three political parties were first to broadcast through the state- operated Myanmar Radio and Television (MRTV) their party policies, political stance and objectives in the election. (Myanmar-Election) Endi
