Xinhua, September 7, 2015 Adjust font size:

Exercise Ample Strike 2015, a Czech Republic-hosted multinational exercise aiming at training NATO Forward Air Controllers (FACs), will be held from Sept. 7 to 19, NATO's Allied Command Operation (ACO) said Monday.

The aim of the joint training in four locations across the south of the Czech Republic will be coordination among pilots in tactical air operations with more than 100 FACs in support of ground operations.

During the exercise, activities will focus on increasing expertise in direct air support procedures and standardizing interoperability of military specialists for deployments in operations abroad, according to the ACO.

"We will be stationed at four sites and training will be held simultaneously in six operational areas," said deputy exercise director Major Pavel Prochazka.

Several aircraft have been deployed to Czech Republic's Namest helicopter base and military training areas in Libava and Boletice, including a Mi-17 helicopter from Slovakia, German Learjet and PC-9 aircraft, U.S. AH-64 Apache helicopters. Endit
