Xinhua, September 6, 2015 Adjust font size:

34-year-old U.S. veteran Matthew Emmons got his first ISSF World Cup Final gold in six years after winning men's 50m rifle 3 positions event in Munich on Sunday.

It was the sixth WCF gold for the shooting talent. His previous one came in 2009, when he won the same event in Wuxi, China.

19-year-old Chinese rising star Yang Haoran, who stood on the highest podium of men's 10m air rifle on Saturday, was the runner-up.

Emmons scored 310.6 points after kneeling and prone, almost five points ahead of Yang. However, Yang manged to trim the gap shot by shot in the standing stage.

The Chinese teenager closed the gap to 1.3 points with two shots left, but Emmons had a strong finish by shooting 10.2 points and 9.1 points. Yang ended his competition with 458.2 points, 0.6 points behind Emmons.

Yang also refreshed the world junior record, which was the second one he had broken at this weekend.

Sergey Kamenskiy of Russia got the bronze medal with 447.0 points. Endi
