Chinese navy fleet concludes Egypt visit with fruitful exchanges

Chinese navy's Fleet 152 left the Alexandria Port of Egypt on Sunday after its 5-day visit, with a grand farewell ceremony held by Chinese Embassy in Egypt and Consulate General in Alexandria.

The Charge d'Affaires Ad Interim Qi Qianjin, Military Attache Yu Haibo, Consul General Xu Nanshan and overseas Chinese in Egypt, staff of Chinese-funded institutions and representatives of media joined in the ceremony.

During the visit, the Fleet Commander Wang Jianxun, the Fleet Commissariat Commander Ye Jianlin, together with Qi Qianjin, Yu Haibo and Xu Nanshan went to the Tomb of the Unknown Soldiers in Alexandria and lay wreaths to pay tribute to those navy soldiers who died in the wars.

After that, they visited the Egyptian Navy's Commander Usamah, Chief of Staff Ahmad and other important military and government officials.

Fleet 152, composed of 052C Missile Equipped Destroyer Ji Nan, 054A Missile Equipped Frigate Yi Yang, and 903 Integrated Supply Ship Qian Daohu, started its round-the-world navigation after a four-month mission of convoy in the Gulf of Aden and sea areas of Somalia.

Farewell to Sudan, it's first stop during the navigation, the Fleet arrived in Egypt on Sept. 2, where it held exchange activities with Egyptian navy such as joint maneuvers, mutual visits to each other's warships, displaying military equipments, exchanging anti-terror experience, and cultural activities.
