After ruling out No. 4 seed Kei Nishikori in the first-round, Frenchman Benoit Paire beated No. 26 Tommy Robredo, 7-6, 6-1, 6-1 here on Friday to reach his first career Grand Slam round of 16.

"For the moment, I'm really happy. The most important is my game. If I feel good, I know I can beat a lot of players," Paire said.

After dropping to No. 149 in the rankings while dealing with a knee injury, Paire has a chance to reach the quarterfinals at a Grand Slam for the first time. Endit
