Malaysian official expects more information on MH370 debris to be given to search team

Xinhua, September 4, 2015 Adjust font size:

Malaysian Transport Minister Liow Tiong Lai said Friday that he hoped the experts could provide more information on the debris to the search and rescue team of the Malaysian Airlines flight MH370, according to Malaysia's state news agency Bernama.

In response to the confirmation from the French side that the flaperon discovered in Reunion Island was a part of MH370 aircraft, Liow said that he hoped the experts could furnish details such as precise location of its discovery.

"Such information will assist the Search Strategy Working Group which is conducting the search, to move forward," he said.

Liow also said that it has been a trying time for the family members and loved ones of the MH370 victims, and he assured that the Malaysian government together with China and Australia would continue with the search effort.

On August 6, Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak confirmed that the flaperon belongs to the Boeing 777, 515 days after it disappeared while authorities in France cited "very strong presumption" that it was the case.

The flight, a Boeing 777-200, has disappeared en route from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing with a total of 239 passengers on board, most of them Chinese. Endi
