Tokyo stocks open lower amid cautiousness ahead of U.S. jobs data

Tokyo stocks opened slightly lower in early trading Friday amid a cautiousness mood ahead of the release of U.S. monthly jobs data.

At 9:15 a.m., the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average was down 41.18 points, or 0.23 percent, from Thursday to 18,141.21. The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange shed 2.51 points, or 0.17 percent, at 1,472.47.

Decliners were led by information and communication, glass and ceramics, and foods. Endi
