Chinese Premier Li Keqiang on Thursday afternoon met with President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov, who is visiting China to attend the V-Day celebrations held Thursday morning.

Li said China-Uzbekistan strategic partnership is developing smoothly. China is willing to strengthen policy coordination with Uzbekistan, expand bilateral trade and innovate new cooperation patterns, in a bid to translate high-level political mutual-trust into more practical cooperation fruits.

Li added that the two countries have complementary advantages in productivity and infrastructure building. China hopes to cooperate with Uzbekistan in capacity and equipment manufacturing in fields in which both are interested, so as to help the both sides address the downward pressure on the current global economy.

Karimov said China is playing a unique and constructive role in international affairs. The two countries enjoy a high level of political mutual-trust, complementary advantages in economy and profound friendship. Uzbekistan is willing to deepen cooperation with China and promote the bilateral ties, he said. Endi
