(V-Day)J-15 carrier-based fighter jets debut in V-Day parade

Xinhua, September 3, 2015 Adjust font size:

Five Chinese-made J-15 fighter jets flew over Tian'anmen Square in a military parade Thursday morning to mark the 70th anniversary of the end of World War II.

Nicknamed "Flying Shark," J-15 is China's first generation multi-purpose carrier-borne fighter jet, with the capability to carry out various tasks.

On November 23 in 2012, "Liaoning", China's first aircraft carrier, conducted successful take-off and landing tests of its carrier-borne J-15 fighters, the main strike force of China's carrier group.

Liaoning, which was refitted based on an unfinished Russian-made carrier and commissioned in September 2012, has completed more than 100 scientific-research tests, as well as landing and takeoff exercises by J-15 fighters and various types of helicopters. Endi
