Chilean President Michelle Bachelet's popularity among citizens has fallen once again, reaching an unprecedented 24 percent approval rate, according to a survey published on Wednesday by local consultants Adimark.
The disapproval rate of the president increased once again from last month, reaching 72 percent, the highest during Bachelet's administration, according to the survey.
At the same time, the evaluation of the government also reached a historical low with an approval rate of 18 percent only and a disapproval rate of 79 percent.
The study also registered an increase in people identifying with the opposition, from last month's 34 percent to the current 37 percent, higher than the support for the government, which remains 32 percent, same as last month.
"These results should be read with caution. It is possible that the term 'opposition' today brings together people with very different visions including opposing," Adimark addressed the study.
The economic slowdown and corruption scandals are listed as reasons of the government's popularity fall in the index. Endi
