Xi says China suffers over 35 million casualties in anti-Japanese war

President Xi Jinping said on Thursday that China suffered over 35 million casualties and the Soviet Union lost more than 27 million lives during the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War.

"Ravaging through Asia, Europe, Africa and Oceania, that war inflicted over 100 million military and civilian casualties," said Xi while addressing a gathering to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the war victory. Endit
