Singapore stocks close 0.16 pct lower

Singapore stocks finished lower on Wednesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) down 4. 64 points, or 0.16 percent, to close at 2,878.13.

A total of 1.12 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 986.4 million Singapore dollars (697.7 million U.S. dollars).

Decliners outnumbered gainers 228 to 179, while 532 others finished unchanged.

The STI index lost 38.67 points, or 1.32 percent, to close at 2, 882.77 on Tuesday. Endi
