Macao to issue stamps marking 70th anniv. of V-Day

Xinhua, September 2, 2015 Adjust font size:

Macao will issue commemorative stamps marking 70th anniversary of victory of the Chinese people's resistance against Japanese aggression on Sept.3, Macao Post said at press briefing on Tuesday.

A set of stamps consists of two stamps with face value at 2.00 and 5.50 patacas, which vividly showcase the heroic bearing of how Chinese people were resisting against the Japanese invaders.

One stamp is named "July 7th Incident" which depicts a Chinese solider holding and aiming his rifle ahead, with his background being the famous Macro Polo Bridge.

The other is called "National-wide War of Resistance." Taking Great Wall as backdrop, the stamp shows the touching scene of Chinese people fighting against enemies.

About 4000 copies of first day covers and 3000 copies of information brochure will be published along with 500,000 set of stamps from Thursday, head of Macao Post told the press. Endi
