Customs officials in Bangladesh's main airport in the capital of Dhaka on Tuesday seized nearly two kilograms of powdered cocaine from a Peruvian national, an official said.
"We've searched the Peruvian national who came here at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport via Dubai by a flight of Emirates Airlines and found two kilograms of powdered cocaine," the Customs Intelligence Department official who preferred to be unnamed told Xinhua.
According to the official, the cocaine worth about 8,100 U.S. dollars.
The seizure came months after a large haul of liquidated cocaine worth about 14 million U.S. dollars was seized in the country's premier seaport in Chittagong, some 242 km southeast of Dhaka.
The consignment reportedly came from Peru's neighboring Bolivia. Endi
