The exhibition in commemoration of the 70th anniversary of victory of the World War II was officially opened here on Tuesday.

The exhibition, titled "Remember the History and Look into the Future", featured more than 200 historical photos on Japanese aggression in China, Indonesia and other Southeast Asian countries and the crimes Japanese made.

The exhibition is held to recall the panorama of the efforts Chinese and Indonesia made in resisting the invasion, preventing the history from repeating and upholding the victory of world anti- fascist war.

Chinese Ambassador to Indonesia Xie Feng said at the opening ceremony that China and Indonesia both had been invaded and hurt by Japan and shared the common experience.

The ambassador noted that the two countries had fought shoulder to should in anti-invasion and independence. "I hope by showcasing the valuable historical photos, the Indonesian society especially the young generation will have a better understanding of this phase of history and cherish the hard- earned peace,"Xie said.

The exhibition, co-organized by local mandarin Inhua Daily, Xinhua News Agency and Indonesian Chinese communities, will run through Sept. 3. Endi
