Team Nigeria departs for All Africa Games in Brazzaville

The Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC) on Tuesday confirmed the departure of a contingent of 544 athletes and officials to the 11th All Africa Games (AAG) to be held in Brazzaville, Congo.

The Games are scheduled to run from Sept. 4 to Sept. 19. The delegation left the country for Congo on Aug. 31.

The Nigerian delegation comprises: Athletics with 44 athletes and officials; Football, 54; Basketball, 31; Wrestling, 22; Judo, 19; Boxing, 19; Swimming, 8; Badminton, 20; Table Tennis, 17 and Tennis, 12.

Others are Weightlifting, 22; Taekwondo, 22; Karate, 15; Handball, 43; Gymnastics, 16; Cycling, 18; Volleyball, 42; Para Power lifting, 32 and Para Athletics, 32.

The Nigerian athletes would also be accompanied by 56 contingent officials made up of officials from the NOC, Medical team and Secretariat officials. Endi
