Ferries cannot leave or enter the French port of Calais for the time being due to blockade by former employees of a dissolved ferry company MyFerryLink, affecting services between France and Britain, BBC said on late Sunday.

According to some ferries operators, they have not informed how long this will last but negotiations are ongoing to resolve the situation as soon as possible.

In May, Eurotunnel, the operator of the Channel Tunnel, declared its partnership with MyFerryLink was ending.

Eurotunnel was told in January it must cease its MyFerryLink cross Channel service following a ruling by the Competition Appeal Tribunal. Endit
