Bangladesh nabs 5 human organ traders

The Detective Branch (DB) of Bangladesh Police have detained five people in connection with a case of international human organ trafficking.

DB presented them before the media at a press conference on Saturday.

"We've arrested them Friday night," DB Deputy Commissioner Muntasirul Islam told journalists.

During primary interrogation, said the official, one of the detainees confessed that they were smuggling human organs in particular kidneys to India.

A Dhaka court later on Saturday granted a three-day remand against each of the detainees who are said to be brokers involved in purchase and sale of human kidney. Endi
