Deported Iranian national arrested in India

Xinhua, August 28, 2015 Adjust font size:

Indian authorities have arrested a deported Iranian national at the international airport in the southern city of Bengaluru, a senior police official said Friday.

"Farzad Jafari Oulia, a disk jockey by profession, was deported from India in March 2014. He was arrested at Bengaluru's Kempegowda International Airport in the wee hours of Thursday," he said, on condition of anonymity.

"He was heading to Turkey, interrogations have revealed."

A probe has been ordered into how the Iranian national managed to slip into India, despite being deported last year and blacklisted for 10 years, the official said. Endi
