Jamaican runner Usain Bolt and Cuban triple jumper Pedro Pablo Pichardo on Thursday attracted the attention as the best Latin American and Caribbean athletes at IAAF (International Association of Athletics Federations) 2015 World Championships in Beijing, local media reported.

According to Cuban news agency Prensa Latina, Bolt, who has been six times Olympic champion, on Thursday won the 200m race with a time of 19.55 seconds. This is the fourth time Bolt wins this competition.

Just five days after beating United States' Justin Gatlin at the 100m race, Bolt showed he is stronger than the U.S. runner, who ended second with a time of 19.74 seconds.

Bronze medal was for Anaso Jobodwana with a time of 19.87 seconds, followed by Panamanian Alonso Edward.

On the other hand, Cuban triple jumper Pichardo won silver medal, just as in Moscow 2013, with a 17.73-meter jump in his sixth try.

Pichardo, champion at Toronto 2015 Pan-American Games, gave Cuba its third medal after the ones won by discus thrower Denia Caballero and pole vaulter Yarisley Silva.

The 22-year-old Cuban jumper could not beat U.S. Christian Taylor, who jumped 18.22 meters, the second best jump in the history.

Portuguese Nelson Evora, Olympic champion at Beijing 2008, won bronze medal with a 17.52-meter jump. Endi
