Latin American, Caribbean athletes seek more medals at IAAF worlds

The Latin American and Caribbean athletes will seek on Friday to increase the number of medals at IAAF (International Association of Athletics Federations) 2015 World Championship being held in Beijing, local media reported.

According to Cuban news agency Prensa Latina, four women's finals will be held on Friday, including 20-km walk, long jump, 200 and 100 meter hurdles, while men will dispute 110 meter with hurdles.

In women's 20-km walk, Latin America will be represented by 11 athletes, but in the rest it will not have any.

On the other hand, in women's 200 meter with hurdles competition, Jamaican athletes including Jamaican Veronica Campbell-Brown, Elaine Thompson and Sherone Simpson will take part.

In the men's 110 meter with hurdles, Jamaicans Omar McLeod and Hansle Parchment will try to win a medal.

On Friday the decathlon competition (100 meter, long and high jumps, shot put and 400 meter) will be held. Also, the final on men's high jump and women's javeline, semifinals of women's 1,500 meter and 100 meter with hurdles. Endi
