Singapore stocks close 2.52 pct higher

Singapore stocks finished higher on Thursday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index up 72.43 points, or 2.52 percent, to close at 2,945.43.

A total of 1.96 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 1. 61 billion Singapore dollars (1.15 billion U.S. dollars).

Gainers outnumbered decliners 459 to 61, while 421 others finished unchanged.

The STI index lost 13.29 points, or 0.46 percent, to close at 2, 873.00 on Wednesday. Endi
