Latin Americans seek tickets for US Open

Twelve Latin American tennis players on Wednesday will seek a victory to win a ticket for US Open's main board, the last Grand Slam tournament of the season, international media reported.

The players will take part in the four-day qualifying phase currently held in New York, United States.

The list is led by Argentine players Horacio Zeballos, Facundo Arguello, Guido Andreozzi and Facundo Bagnis.

Bagnis, ranked 20 in the previous phase, will play for the sixth time in US Open, where he achieved three victories in 2014.

As well, Colombian Alejandro Gonzalez, Chilean Nicolas Jarry and Brazilians Andre Ghem and Guilherme Clezar are seeking to be part of the U.S. tournament.

Colombian Gonzalez played in the main board in 2014 and obtained one victory. He reached 45 ranking points.

Among the women, Argentines Maria Irigoyen and Florencia Molinero, as well as Mexican Marcela Zacarias and Brazilian Gabriela Ce are seeking a ticket also.
