French stock market index down 1.40 pct on Wednesday

The French stock market benchmark index CAC 40 dropped by 1.40 percent to close at 4,501.05 points on Wednesday, down 63.81 points.

The CAC 40 of Paris closed lower on Wednesday with 35 of the 40 selected companies experiencing decrease.

The three companies whose stocked dropped most on Wednesday were Total, down 3.55 percent, ArcelorMittal, down 3.41 percent, and Air Liquide, down 2.91 percent.

The top three gainers on Wednesday were Technip, up 1.58 percent, Vinci, up 1.23 percent, and Saint Gobain, up 0.24 percent.

In the previous trading day, the CAC 40 rebounded strongly by 4.14 percent to close at 4,564.86 points, up 181.40 points. Endit
