Thai football clubs eye Myanmar striker

Xinhua, August 26, 2015 Adjust font size:

Football clubs in Thailand have interest in hiring Myanmar outstanding striker Aung Thu, who won the 2014 ASEAN Football Federation's best young player award, according to the Myanmar Football Federation on Wednesday.

The agreement from all parties -- the players, coaches and the players' agent in Myanmar is needed to make a deal, the federation said, adding that the striker would like to join a team in Thailand.

The young striker caught the attention of talented scouts when he scored the winning goals during last year's AFF U19 Championship which saw Myanmar qualify for the U20 World Cup.

Aung Thu began his career in Mandalay where he remains on a long-term contract with Yadanarbon Football club. Endit
