Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o- cha will visit the Philippines on Aug. 27 and 28, deputy government spokesman Weerachon Sukontapatipak said Tuesday.

The visit is aimed at strengthening the relations between Thailand and the Philippines as well as bilateral cooperation in various areas, especially trade, investment, education and aviation, Weerachon said.

Prayut has been visiting other ASEAN countries since he assumed office last year, with the Philippines being his eighth destination in the region. Endi
