TV schedules packed with WWII anniversary shows

Xinhua, August 25, 2015 Adjust font size:

Programs and films about Japan's invasion of China will dominate television schedules to mark the 70th anniversary of the end of World War II on Sept. 3.

That night, Central China Television and local television stations will present art performances themed on victory over the Japanese, said the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television on Tuesday.

Zhejiang Satellite TV will broadcast a five-day show telling veterans' stories. There will also be plenty of war-themed documentaries and cartoons.

This year marks the 70th anniversary of the end of WWII. Japan signed its formal surrender on Sept. 2, 1945, and China celebrated its victory the following day. Endi
