U.S. military warehouse explodes in Japan

A U.S. military warehouse exploded early Monday near Tokyo in Japan, without immediate reports on injuries, according to local press.

The accident took place at around 0:45 a.m. on Monday with the warehouse, which is located at a U.S. military base in Kanagawa Prefecture's Sagamihara, burst into flames, Japan's Kyodo News cited local firefighters as saying, adding that the fire may cause some metal tanks to explode.

U.S. military side had informed the Japanese authorities that some oxidation products had burned and that work continued to determine the cause of the incident, said reports. Endi
