Migrants break fence on Macedonian border, fresh clashes with police

Xinhua, August 22, 2015 Adjust font size:

Several hundred migrants managed to break the barbed fence and escaped police security at the Macedonian-Greek border near Bogorodica check point, entering the country and fleeing towards the first town near the border Gevgelija on Saturday.

Police used stun grenades but couldn't stop the crowd that immediately started running through the fields.

Approximately 600 refugees passed the border regularly today, after they were registered and controlled by the police forces securing the borderline where Macedonian authorities declared "state of emergency" on Thursday. Endit
