EU chief to meet Ukrainian president next Thursday

European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker will meet Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko next Thursday, a spokeswoman with the commission made the announcement here on Friday at a routine press briefing.

The spokeswomen said that the two leaders will discuss implementation of the Minsk agreement.

Last week, violence in eastern Ukraine has sharply escalated with conflicting sides blaming each other for violations of the six-month-old truce and preparations for new offensives. Endit
