French stock market index down 3.19 pct on Friday

The French stock market benchmark index CAC 40 dropped by 3.19 percent to close at 4,360.99 points on Friday, down 152.56 points.

With increasing worries over China's economic performance and the strong performance of the euro against the U.S. dollar, the CAC 40 of Paris closed lower on Friday with all of the 40 selected companies experiencing decrease.

The three companies whose stocks dropped most on Friday were LafargeHolcim Ltd, down 4.64 percent, Essilor Intl., down 4.62 percent, and Peugeot, down 4.60 percent.

In the previous trading day, the CAC 40 dropped by 2.06 percent to close at 4,783.55 points, down 100.55 points. Endit
