Singaporean leaders sent congratulatory letters to Sri Lanka's Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe for his victory in the parliamentary polls earlier this week, reported Channel NewsAsia on Friday.

Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong wrote that he is confident that Sri Lanka will continue grow and prosper during Wickremesinghe's new term in office. PM Lee noted that the electoral victory reflects the faith Sri Lankans have placed in Wickremesinghe's vision of a peaceful, democratic and prosperous nation.

Emeritus Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong said Wickremesinghe's commitment to bring Sri Lankans together has added positive momentum to the country's reconstruction and national reconciliation efforts.

Sri Lanka's United National Front (UNF) leader Ranil Wickremesinghe on Friday took oath as the nation's new prime minister. Wickremesinghe was sworn in as the country's prime minister for the fourth time after he last ruled from 2001 to 2004. Endi
