Iceland's unemployment rate reaches 5 pct in Q2

Iceland's unemployment rate has reached 5 percent in the second quarter of 2015, according to figures released by Statistics Iceland on Friday.
The statistics showed the number of people in the labor market in the second quarter was 196,300, with 9,900 unemployed.
From the second quarter of 2014, the number of unemployed people fell by 1,400 and the unemployment rate decreased by 0.9 points.
The unemployment rate among females was 5.6 percent and 4.5 percent among males. The average working hours of those who were working in the reference week was 40.3 hours, 44.5 hours for those in full-time employment and 23.8 hours for those in part-time employment.
Those who have been unemployed for 12 months or more in second quarter of 2015 were 900, or 0.4 percent of the labor force. In the second quarter of 2014, the result was 1,800, or 0.9 percent. Enditem
