Attackers at Finnish Finance Minister's house detained

Xinhua, August 21, 2015 Adjust font size:

The Finnish police have detained two men, aged 21 and 22, for allegedly attacking the house of Finance Minister Alexander Stubb early Tuesday.

Contrary to earlier information, low grade rifle was used in the assault. The two suspects were residents of the area known as one of the upscale regions of Espoo, a neighbouring city west to Helsinki.

The men had no previous criminal record. Police told the media it was still under investigation what was the motivation and whether the men had intended to harm the family.

The men had also inflicted damage on a school and day care facility nearby. Endit
