French stock market index down 2.06 pct on Thursday

The French stock market benchmark index CAC 40 dropped by 2.06 percent to close at 4,783.55 points on Thursday, down 100.55 points.

Still weakened by the worries about the world economic growth, the CAC 40 of Paris closed lower on Thursday with 38 of the 40 selected companies experiencing decrease.

The three companies whose stocks dropped most on Thursday were Renault, down 4.67 percent, Alcatel-Lucent, down 4.00 percent, and Veolia Environnement, down 3.94 percent.

The only two stocks that gained advanced on Thursday were Technip, up 1.03 percent, and Alstom, up 0.13 percent.

In the previous trading day, the CAC 40 dropped by 1.75 percent to close at 4,884.10 points, down 87.15 points. Endit
