Top political advisor meets Taiwan lawmakers

Xinhua, August 20, 2015 Adjust font size:

Top political advisor Yu Zhengsheng has called for promoting common benefits for people on both sides of the Taiwan Strait.

Yu made the remarks when meeting a Taiwan lawmakers delegation, led by Yao Eng-chi, on Thursday.

Cross-Strait relations should benefit more ordinary Taiwan people, Yu said.

Both sides, he said, should uphold the "1992 consensus" and oppose Taiwan independence.

"We are ready to hear opinions of people from all walks of life in Taiwan to develop our understanding," Yu said.

There have been 12 meetings between mainland political advisors and Taiwan lawmakers since 2010. Endi
