Klose sidelined with leg injury

Xinhua, August 19, 2015 Adjust font size:

Lazio's German veteran striker Miroslav Klose is set to be missing for at least one week following a leg muscle injury sustained during Tuesday's Champions League play-off first leg.

The 37-year-old Klose injured his leg for hitting the post during the first half of Lazio's 1-0 win against German side Bayer Leverkusen.

According to Lazio coach Stefano Pioli, Klose will be ruled out for the second leg match on August 26, which means he will also miss Lazio's Serie A opener at home against Bologna on Saturday.

"When I hit the post I stretched the leg too much. Now we wait for an MRI, but I think it was quite a serious injury. I hope the team can make it in Germany. We know it is not over yet," Klose said. Endi
