Unknown armed men kidnap 4 people in N. Afghanistan

Unidentified armed men believed to be Taliban militants abducted four persons including a judge in Saripul province on Tuesday, a local official said Wednesday.

"Four people including Mirwais, the head of appellate court of Saripul province, were on the way to go home when unknown armed men, obviously Taliban insurgents, intercepted their car and took them to an unknown location," the official told Xinhua but declined to be identified, saying authorized officials would brief the media later.

Meanwhile, Saripul provincial police chief, Mohammad Asif Jabarkhil without making comment on the subject said that the case would be investigated.
