Senegal honors Chinese doctor for his good work

Xinhua, August 19, 2015 Adjust font size:

Head of Chinese medical mission to Senegal Weng Wei was on Tuesday conferred with the Knight of National Order of Lion, the highest honour in Senegal in the classification of the National Order of Lion.

It was conferred to him in Dakar by the director of the Pikine National Hospital Kadidiatou Sarr Kebe on behalf of Senegal's minister for health and social action.

The Chinese mission whose term will end in early September, has been working at the Chinese constructed hospital since 2013.

"The good performance achieved by the hospital in the last two years was possible because of the mission's support," Madam Kebe said.

"We appreciate the work of Chinese specialists in collaboration with our teams," she said, adding that the head of the Chinese delegation led both teams with a lot of wisdom.

Weng expressed his satisfaction for being honoured, and hailed the success of medical cooperation between Senegal and China.

The representative of the Chinese ambassador in Senegal, Zhang Maiqing, said the medal conferred to the head of mission was a "recognition of the good work by the entire medial team." Endit
