101 militants killed in Afghanistan

More than 100 Taliban militants have been killed during series of operations across the conflict-ridden Afghanistan over the past 24 hours, Interior Ministry said in a statement released here Monday.

"Units of police backed by the army and national directorate for security have killed 101 armed insurgents during operations conducted in Nangarhar, Parwan, Baghlan, Kunduz, Faryab, Sar-e-Pul, Oruzgan, Jowzjan, Paktika and Helmand provinces over the past 24 hours," the statement said.

According to the statement, 82 more insurgents have been injured during the operations.

However, it didn't say if there were casualties on security personnel.
