Myanmar to continue list historic buildings, pagodas in Yangon

The Department of Archaeology National Museum and Library of Myanmar will continue compiling the list of historic buildings and pagodas over 100 years in Yangon, sources with the department said on Monday.

The list of over-100-year-old buildings and pagodas in Yangon's suburb townships Hmawbe and Hlegu have been complied and another survey is planned in Htantabin and Taikkyi.

So far, the department has conserved 24 historic buildings in Yangon.

The department has formed respective management teams to conserve a total of 16 buildings which have been designated as historic buildings since 2009. Endi
