Chinese pair Tian Qing/Zhao Yunlei successfully defended their world title after coming from behind to beat Christinna Pedersen/Kamilla Rytter Juhl of Denmark in the women's doubles final of the world badminton championships.

Tian/Zhao, seeded No. 5, overcame Pedersen/Juhl 23-25, 21-8 and 21-15 in more than an hour, adding to China's victories in the men's singles and the mixed doubles.

In women's singles, top seed Carolina Marin of Spain also managed to defend her championship by beating Indian Saina Nehwal 21-16, 21-19.

"Today I feel like playing in my own country. I really appreciated that because I know when you are exhausted and there is an opponent to defeat, the support gave me confidence to struggle more to win," Carolina said.

The men's doubles title went to Indonesian Hendra and Ahsan, who swept past Chinese pairing Liu Xiaolong/Qiu Zihan 21-17, 21-14 in just 37 minutes. Endi
