18 militants killed in northern Afghan province

A total of 18 militants have been killed as security forces pounded Taliban hideouts in Dand-e-Ghori area of the northern Baghlan province since early Saturday, the Interior Ministry said on Sunday.

According to the ministry, 16 more militants have been injured.

It did not say if there were casualties on Afghan security forces.

Dand-e-Ghori on the outskirts of Baghlan's provincial capital Pul-e-Khumri has seen increasing Taliban activities over the past year. Endi
