Zambia has picked 16 female handball players to represent the country at the 2015 All-Africa Games to be hosted by Congo-Brazzaville, the Zambia Daily Mail reported on Friday.

Handball Association of Zambia president Victor Banda said the team assembled was capable of winning medals at the tournament.

"We have confidence in the team that has been selected. It has been preparing for this tournament since December last year. The team has been together for more than four years now," he was quoted as saying by the paper.

The players started training for the tournament last week and preparations are currently on course.

Zambia are in Group D with the Democratic Republic of Congo and Cote d'Ivoire. The All-Africa Games will run from September 4 to 19. Endi
