In the more than one hour duel, Wang, the 7th seed, made errors in the last moment, gifting the Spain's No. 1 a 21-17, 21-19 win.

Marin will take on the winner of India's PV Sindhu and South Korea's Sung Ji Hyun in the semis.

In the men's singles, Japanese ace Kento Momota, world No. 4 and the recent Indonesia Open Super Series winner, trashed Hong Kong non-seeded player Wei Nan to get a semifinal berth. China's Chen Long struggled to advance to the semifinals.

In the mixed doubles, Xu Chen/Ma Jin, China's No. 2, trashed Jacco Arends/Selena Piek from the Netherlands 21-9, 21-18. Endi
