9 killed in house collapse in N. India

Xinhua, August 13, 2015 Adjust font size:

At least nine people have been killed and three others injured in a house collapse in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, a senior police official said Thursday.

"The mishap happened when the roof of a dilapidated house caved in in the state's Banda district late Wednesday night due to heavy rains," he said, on condition of anonymity.

While nine people were killed on the spot, those injured have been admitted to a local hospital where the condition of them are said to be serious, the official said.

A probe has been ordered into the incident, he added. Endi
