Singapore stocks close 1.36 pct lower

Singapore stocks finished lower on Tuesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) down 43. 60 points, or 1.36 percent, to close at 3,153.06.

A total of 1.98 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 1. 89 billion Singapore dollars (1.35 billion U.S. dollars).

Decliners outnumbered Gainers 296 to 161, while 479 others finished unchanged.

The STI index gained 5.27 points, or 0.17 percent, to close at 3,196.66 last Thursday. Endi
