1st LD: 17 Saudi policemen killed in suicide blast at mosque in Abha

Seventeen Saudi policemen were killed on Thursday in a suicide blast in a mosque in the south of Saudi Arabia, Al Arabiya reported.

The number of the wounded is not yet released.

Similar deadly blasts occured in the past few months targeting Shiite mosques in the eastern province.

The IS has claimed responsibility for most of the attacks.

Saudi Interior Ministry announced in July that its intelligences have succeeded in foiling four mosque attacks in Ramadan and arrested 431 Islamic State (IS) members. Endit
