Singapore stocks close 0.17 pct higher

Singapore stocks finished slightly higher on Thursday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) up 5.27 points, or 0.17 percent, to close at 3,196.66.

A total of 1.47 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 1. 00 billion Singapore dollars (723.9 million U.S. dollars).

The STI index was up 0.35 points, or 0.01 percent, to close at 3,191.39 on Wednesday. Endi
